Find out how the lyrics to the Beatles song I'm Only Sleeping from the album Revolver were written.

John Lennon loved being in bed and the lyrics that he wrote for I’m only Sleeping were a reflection of this love. The mentions of a dream like state are more reference to simple dreams than being in a drug induced state. However with the addition of backwards guitars on the song picks up a dreamy drug culture sound. At the time of the recording John Lennon had been described as one of the laziest people in England , who could sleep almost indefinitely.

John Lennon does the lead vocals on I’m only sleeping with the other Beatles all present for the recording.
