Beatles Album: Abbey Road : Track 14

    Year: 1969

    Lyrics: Lennon, McCartney

    Length: 1.31

The Beatles song golden slumbers was written by Paul McCartney and makes up part of the medley on the abbey road album. The song itself is a copy of a poem written by Thomas Decker in the early 1600's.

Paul had stumbled upon the old song and not being able to read the music he made his own melody. He also twisted a few of the words to fit the new golden slumbers melody , and hence came up with a new song.

The only Beatles present for the recording of Golden Slumbers were Paul and Ringo.
