Find out how the lyrics to the Beatles song Girl came to be written.

Girl is another song with twisted lyrics by John. In the first half of the song the Beatles writes about an ideal dream girl, yet as so was often the case with john by the second half of the song the girl has changed to be nasty and push-away in nature.

The Beatles Girl song actually has references to the Catholic Church, with the line ‘that pain would lead to pleasure, and a man must brake his back to earn his day of leisure’ being very much in line of the view of the church. John was both strongly opposed to and obsessed by the church at that point in his life, and within four months he had made the comment to Maureen Cleave that “the Beatles were more popular than Jesus”.

This song is notorious that John had Paul and George singing the word ‘tit’ as part of the backing vocals.
